Help us reach more families

We are an early-stage organization building educational programs and community partnerships in San Diego and beyond. The work needs clinicians, translators, educators, designers, community organizations, and neighbors.

Ways to help

Healthcare professionals

Physicians, nurses, dietitians, psychologists, pharmacists, and community health workers: help review educational materials for accuracy, contribute content, or speak at community events.

Offer your expertise

Community organizations

Churches, community centers, clinics, and nonprofits serving Latino families: partner with us on education sessions and shared resources.

Schools and youth programs

Childhood obesity is a priority for us. We are developing family-centered education appropriate for school and after-school settings.

Bring education to your school

Volunteers

Translation and Spanish-language editing, graphic design, video, event support, social media, and administrative help are all genuinely useful to us right now.

Corporate and community sponsors

Support specific educational programs or community events. We maintain a conflict of interest policy governing relationships that could affect the independence of our educational content.

Donations

The Latino Obesity Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Online giving is not yet open — we are completing the setup of our donation platform and will publish it here. In the meantime, please contact us directly to discuss supporting our work.

Our independence

Our educational content is developed to reflect current science, free from commercial influence. The foundation maintains a written conflict of interest policy requiring directors, officers, and key personnel to disclose financial interests and to recuse themselves from related decisions. We do not endorse specific commercial products, clinics, medications, or weight-loss programs.
